Studio Closure July 2020

The End of An Era - Farewell From Us

A Letter to the Beloved TULIVESI Yoga Community: It is with great sorrow that I announce the inevitable closing of TULIVESI Yoga Studio. I can’t quite capture into words the magnitude of gratitude I have in my heart for this community. What started as a physical place to practice grew to be so much more. Often I have been overwhelmed with the outpouring of love and support that has been shown to myself and to all of the teachers and team that have been a part of the studio over the years. A little over 5 years ago, walking this beach in San Diego and being a transplant to Michigan, I never would have dreamed the studio would have grown to be what it has become. The name TULIVESI was born this day and stretched from the Pacific Ocean to the shores of Lake Superior. I began my mission that day to bring a yoga studio to Marquette that would be inclusive for all to practice, grow, transform, and connect for the higher good in this world. The memories created in this space extend beyond the shell of a brick and mortar studio, more so it has been the impact on my heart that has left an imprint. The past few months have been very difficult for all of us living through this crisis. Challenges that we have been faced with in our world have put our true practice of yoga to the test: the opportunity to lean in and the opportunity to know when to surrender and release all attachment. Operating the studio through a pandemic was certainly an unforeseen obstacle and navigating the safety of all with the question of when to open and how to manage overhead and losses hasn’t led to a clear decision with so much unknown. While I tried everything possible to remain open with the need for a lease renewal and two different parties unable to take over ownership with the risk of the unknown, I have been left no choice but to close the doors, which is devastating and has left me heartbroken to say the least. To all I say this, THANK YOU with endless gratitude. Thank you for showing up day after day. To the teachers that so effortlessly poured their hearts into teaching, thank you. To the student afraid to walk in the door that put their faith in us, thank you. To the ones who wanted to come and never made it, I still thank you. To every person that shared how the practice moved them, thank you. To each ray of light who walked through the door, you were all my biggest teachers. Thank You. All of the connections, big hugs, lots of laughter, tears, and joy have made this journey an honor and privilege. I have learned through the years of sweat equity and support that dreams do come true. My hope is that you all continue to grow in your practice, whether it be in a studio, outdoors, or in the comfort of your own home. I believe the pandemic has taught us all how much yoga has brought to our lives and that the journey never ends. Yoga is around us and within us every day, it isn’t fleeting and often looks different daily. It is a life practice that allows us to begin again each day. Where we end, we begin again. “And now, the practice of yoga begins.” – Yoga Sutra 1.1 All my love and many blessings, Jen and the TULIVESI Yoga Family

One Last Message From Us...

Ever So Grateful. Thank you everyone for all of your lovely memories, kind sentiments, emails, texts, messages and comments about the studio closing. I am still processing and reading them all one at time. This yoga community would not be the same without YOU. This has been and extremely hard week, yet we can rest in the fact that the energy in the yoga room has been a healing sanctuary for so many. Friendships were built, introspection has happened, a deeper understanding of the practice has taken place, and lessons in --- gratitude, service, gifts we possess, and letting go were all learned. I will miss you all...guiding and practicing alongside in this space. Thank you for so many great years together. I have left a link to our online video library to continue practices. I will continue to add personal practices/teachings periodically so subscribe to our Vimeo Channel. Wishing you all lots of love, happiness, and health. The light, love and spirit in me bows and honors the light, love, and spirit in each of you. Namaste, Jen and Nate - A Note About Memberships - While the policy has always been no refunds on any classes in class packages, I have refunded all unused classes for class packages purchased in 2020, excluding those used with gift cards.
