Sarah is a TULIVESI RYT200 graduate. She was introduced to yoga as a child and again in college yet regularly began practicing five years ago when marathon training took its toll on her body. Sarah comes to our studio with 17 years of experience working with children as a public school speech-language pathologist. Communication, compassion and teamwork are her strengths. She is also an adjunct instructor at Northern Michigan University (NMU) in the Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences Department. Sarah earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from NMU and is proud to call the shores of Lake Superior her home. She is a mother of two girls who are 12 and 8. They are the reasons she is driven to follow her passions and live a healthy lifestyle. Sarah has seen the benefits of yoga first-hand in her daughter’s whether it’s watching them breathe through difficult situations, embracing a sunrise or challenging themselves to grow. Training in Yoga Calm is also part of Sarah’s background which believes in the power of breath, building community, a developmental sequence of poses and mindfulness. Sarah is humbled and excited to join her passions of yoga and nurturing children through leading our Budding Warriors summer program. In a fast-paced world where instant gratification and social media are the norm, she looks forward to building lifelong skills that foster inner strength while building community, self-confidence, balance and creativity.
